Background: Delirium is described as a distressful experience by patients and their families. Also, among healthcare staff, nurses caring for with delirium are the most at risk of high distress related to this syndrome. Aims: To assess nurses’ its specific symptoms severity. identify factors sociodemographic psychological characteristics professional experience, that may be associated distress. Methods: A prospective study was carried out older adults in Intensive Care Medicine Service. Distress delirium, global burnout were measured Experience Questionnaire, Kessler Psychological Scale Copenhagen Burnout Inventory, respectively. Results: Eighteen included (mean age=32 years; 89% women). About 46% classified moderately distressing. Disorientation psychomotor agitation distressing symptoms. High greater personal (p=0.040) work-related (p=0.020), more (p=0.007).
